Our history

Our journey began in Vienna in 2020, where the concept of Common Good Human Resource Management was first introduced. Since then, we have focused on growing an international research community and engaging with practitioners interested in advancing management for the common good.

What is Common Good Management?

Common Good Management explores how organizations can contribute to human flourishing and the well-being of society. It emphasizes values such as solidarity, sustainability, and human dignity, and encourages organizations to consider their broader social and ecological responsibilities.

Why It Matters

Organizations play an important role in shaping societies and addressing global challenges. Common Good Management promotes approaches that prioritize stakeholder well-being, democratic participation, and long-term societal and environmental sustainability.

Our Approach

Common Good Management combines insights from philosophy, social sciences, and management research. By fostering dialogue between scholars and practitioners, it seeks to develop practical ideas for organizations that aim to contribute to the common good.

Our Goal

Advancing research and dialogue on Common Good Management and its role in shaping responsible organizations. By bringing together scholars and practitioners, the network aims to develop ideas and practices that contribute to more just, sustainable, and human-centred societies.
